Christmas 2007

A lot has happened since Setember. Tanner has all of his teeth now. He is eating everything we eat. He loves Cheeto's, Biscuits and Sausage, Teddy Grams, and loves to drink out of his sippy cup. He wants a bite of anything we eat. He always points and says "bite." He is starting to talk more. He can say Mamma, Dada, Papa, KiKi, Bite, Car, Tractor, Book, Ball, Bye-Bye, No, Hey, Poo-Poo, and Barney (sounds like Narney). He knows how to make a cow, dog, kitty, duck, rooster, bee, bird and horse noise. He also makes the Varoom-Varoom noise when he plays with his cars and trucks. His Papa has ruined him with the motorcycle and the John Deere Tractor. Tanner loves to read. We read books all the time. Books are his favorite toys. He also loves to watch Barney. Tanner has started to Poo-Poo in the potty. He has seen the big kids at daycare poo-poo in the potty and one day he decided he wanted to poo-poo in the potty. When we are at home, we have been going to the bathroom in the potty. However, when he is at daycare, he just can't seem to quit playing to go to the bathroom. He is still very young to start potty training, but I am pushing him at home so maybe we can sail through potty training. (hopefully)

Christmas was an exciting time in the Thomas family. We had 3 days of Christmas. First, we started at our house. We invited Nanny, Grammy and Pa-Pa to come over and spend the night with us so they could see the presents Santa delivered. We wrote and colored a letter to Santa and laid out some cookies and milk. Then it was time for Tanner to go to bed. He woke up at 6:00am and was ready to go. Santa brought him a red tricycle, a chair of his own, a computer game, a dancing chicken Elmo, and a snow suit. He went to the Elmo first and then to the tricycle. He loved everything. He just kept going from present to present. Then it was time to open present from Mommy and Daddy. He received tons of clothes, counting books, and new Nike Shox. He had to try on the clothes and the shoes once he opened them. It was so cute!!

We then went on to Grammy and PaPa's house in Illinois. We had Christmas with Great-Grandpa Larry, Rita, Cousin Lindsey, and Grammy and Papa Christmas Eve night.

Then it was time to go to bed and wait for GrammyClaus and PapaClaus to put out toys for Tanner too on Christmas morning. He got a basketball goal, a yellow dump truck, a car garage and a set of building blocks. We are still working on shooting the basketball into the goal. We will get there though. He loves playing with his cars and making the Varoom-Varoom sound. He also got clothes, books, car bath toys, and gloves and a hat from Grammy and Pa-Pa.

After opening presents at Grammy and Pa-Pa's we headed out to Great-Grandma Connie's house to have Christmas dinner. There we at dinner with: Aunt Bobi, Uncle Paul, Cousin Tracey, Cousin Trista and her husband, Jacob. Aunt Beth, Uncle Denny, Cousin Skylar. Aunt Lisa, Uncle Steve, and Cousin Jill (all the way home from Oklahoma). Great-Grandma Connie. Tanner received green John Deere boots, (that we wore the rest of the day), a Harley Davidson jump suit, pajama's, crayons, clothes, and a car.

We left there and headed to Dyersburg, TN where Aunite Megie lives. We ate Christmas supper there with : Great-Grandma Lila, Nanny Debby, Aunt Megan, Uncle Rick, Aunt Heather, Uncle Damon, Cousins Katelyn, Hannah, and Madison. Aunt Terri and Uncle Bob. Tanner received Nike Shox, a John Deere jacket, a Barney book, Barney plate and cup, a Leap Frog Scooter, a farm animal puzzle, a yellow hairy ball, farm animal bath toys, a nativity set for his room, and clothes.

As you can tell we had a jam-packed 3 days of Christmas. We are so blessed to have such a loving family to spend Christmas with. We enjoyed Christmas so much to see Tanner have so much fun and enjoy all of his presents.

I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas as much as we did.

Fun in the Sun

It has been a long time since I have posted. Tanner has kept us very busy. He is now 15 months and has a mind of his own. He has 6 teeth on top and 8 on the bottom. He loves to brush his teeth. He brushes his teeth everytime we change his diaper, after meals, when we wake up and before we go to bed. He also has to hold the toothpaste while he is brushing. He 'pretends' to but toothpaste on his toothbrush every couple of brushes. He doesn't have very good table manners. Every time he takes a drink, he says "ahhh." Every time he eats something good, he says "mmmmmm." He is getting more vocal in what he wants. He doesn't say words yet, but he grunts, and points, and squeaks until we get the point. He does say Da-Da and Ma-Ma. He will wave bye and hi. He loves to be outside. He likes to walk himself out to the car when we are going places. But he always has to give kisses to everyone before he goes anywhere. He puckers up and gives wet kisses. He is very sweet and cuddly. He loves to play and wear hats.
This summer we went on vacation to Fort Morgan, AL, which is right outside of Gulf Shores. He LOVED the ocean. He wanted to play in the ocean all of the time. He also loved the sand. We had sand everywhere!! We enjoyed our trip so much to the beach.

Tanner is One!

WOW! Time has flown by. It seems like yesterday we were bringing baby Tanner home from the hospital! Now, he is one year old and he knows it! We had his birthday party on Saturday, May 19th at our house. We grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and had all the fixins' to go with it. IT was then time for Tanner to have his very own cake! He loved it! As you can tell from the pictures...he was covered with icing from head to toe! Then it was time to open his presents. He is one of the few kids that actually like the toy inside instead of the box. We are so blessed to have such close friends and family attending to celebrate such a special day. Tanner got lots and lots of presents. He plays with all of his toys! On Tanner's actual birthday, May 23rd. His daddy and I took his to Chucky E. Cheese. Tanner ate lots of pizza. Then we played games and rode some fun rides. Tanner loved watching all the kids run around and play the games! We won a Happy Birthday Chucky E. Cheese doll to remember the fun day! We are having a party in Illinois on Memorial Day with my family to celebrate Tanner's big 1st Birthday!
Oh, I almost forgot...KiKi's 2nd Birthday is today! May 26th! Lots of birthdays this week!!

Easter

What a whirlwind of a week! I was on Spring Break from school last week. On Monday, I met Brandon and a friend in Trenton to fish. While I was trying to get there, I thought I was lost and tried to turn around. Instead of turning around normal, I backed into a ditch and got stuck! I had to have a wrecker come out in the middle of nowhere to pull me out! What a way to start spring break! Tuesday through Thursday, Tanner and I went to visit his Grammy and Grampy in Illinois. We went shopping, went for walks, and played, played, played! Thursday night we drove back to TN to be with Brandon. Friday, Brandon, Tanner and I went to Atoka to visit Tanner's PaPa, Nanny, and Aunt Megan. We ate pizza, watched Tanner push around his walker and read a book about Cookie Monster. Saturday morning, the Easter Bunny came early to see Tanner. Tanner's daddy had to work Easter so he wanted to see Tanner open his Easter presents. He got a new Walker-to-Wagon, a red Wheelbarrow, a green sand bucket, lots of books, a telephone of his own, bubbles, and Cars ball. He was very excited when he woke up and saw all of his presents. However, he was too interested in the Easter eggs filled with Cheerios around his presents. Saturday, Tanner and I traveled back to Illinois, so we could be there Sunday morning for the Easter Bunny to come to Illinois. Brandon had to work all weekend. The Easter Bunny brought Tanner Thomas the train sunglasses, a John Deere Hat, John Deere outfit, a Cardinals T-Shirt, Jean Shorts, a push mower, a music player, a purple sand bucket, bubbles, lots of good Easter candy, lots of books, and lots of other neat toys. Tanner, again, wanted to play with the Easter eggs instead of playing with his toys! KiKi dog figured out how to open the eggs with her mouth and then eat the Cheerios that was inside the egg. We were busy keeping up with her while she was opening and eating the Cheerios, to pick up the eggs and wash them before Tanner got a hold of them! What a busy week! We hope that everyone had a great Easter!

Easter Pictures

We have had a busy week. Friday night, Tanner's Grammy came to see him. We picked him up from daycare and played and played Friday night. Then on Saturday morning, we all got up bright and early. Tanner had a sausage and biscuit from McDonald's. Boy did he love it! He even was putting the sausage on the biscuit if the piece fell off. He didn't want to eat just the biscuit or just the sausage...he wanted them together!! We then got ready and went to get new white Easter shoes from StrideRite. We picked out the perfect pair. Then our adventure to Sears started. Our overall time at Sears was 3 and 1/2 hours just for pictures. We waited, and waited, and waited! Then it was our turn. Of course, Tanner was such a ham for the camera! It took 4 people to entertain him just enough for a few quick snaps. After all that time, we got the cutest pictures ever!!
After Tanner went to bed on Saturday night, my mom and I dipped fresh strawberries in chocolate! Yum! Yum!
Sunday, Tanner's Grandpa rode down on his Harley to see him. They played with KiKi, ate Cheerio's, danced to music and had lots of fun. Before my parents left, Tanner sat on his Grandpa's Harley and looked like he was ready for a ride!
Monday, Tanner's daddy picked him up from daycare. They played in the yard with KiKi. Tanner would play on the blanket but he did not want to get in the grass. He would hold his foot up when it touched the grass. He enjoyed being outside so much. When I got home, I went outside to play with Brandon, Tanner and KiKi. KiKi has a rope that we throw for her. Tanner got one end and KiKi got the other and they were playing tug-of-war with the rope. Tanner would just laugh and laugh. He enjoys being outside so much!

Silly Boy

This week has been an eventful one! Tanner started having "the runs" last week Thursday. He then developed a cold along with it. So, my little boy hasn't been his usual self. Me and him stayed home from school on Monday and played and rested. He still wasn't better on Tuesday, so his dad took him to see the doctor. The doctor gave him some medicine and he is much better! We got Tanner some new Stride Rite shoes that are for toddlers beginning to walk. So far he likes his shoes and actually keeps them on! He is starting to stand by himself and take a few steps! Once he starts to fully walk...we will never be able to catch him! Right now he and KiKi are looking for dropped Cheerios on the floor. It depends on who sees them first as to who gets to eat them first. Most of the time KiKi is much quicker than Tanner. Tanner just looks at her...waiting on her to give back his Cheerio. They are so funny!

The Thomas Family

Hello to all! I hope everyone is doing well. Tanner is growing each and everyday. At our last doctor's visit he weighed 20 pounds and was 29 1/2 inches long. He is crawling at full force. He loves to look outside, dance to music and eat anything and everything. He loves to watch KiKi run all over the house. It is so funny to watch! Tanner loves to eat. He eats oatmeal, toast or cereal for breakfast, anything that we are eating for lunch, applesauce, pudding, cookies or yogurt for snack and anything for supper. He is the best little eater! Tanner does say Da-Da. I try and try to get him to say ma-ma....he studies my lips so hard when I say Ma-Ma like he is really trying to say it...then he will get a serious look on his face and say Da-Da-Da-Da...then he will laugh so hard! I think he knows it irritates me so that he will not say Ma-Ma. Wow! What a personality this child has!! He is outgrowing his clothes like crazy. He is now wearing 12 months, but will soon be in 18 months - 24 months. Tanner does not like shoes or socks. I think Tanner has watched KiKi chew on socks so much that he thinks socks are for chewing too! Anytime we are in the car, I will look back at him and he will have both of his socks hanging out of his mouth. Too funny!! Well that is all for now...hope you like the pictures!
